The set menu for lunchtime definitely does not lessen any quality or size of portion and you really feel when you come to chose off it that it’s a mini A La Carte Menu.  We let Darios choose and we sat by the window in the summer time area – I called it this as it has a retractable roof (shown in video above) and will be simply stunning when the sun shines!

piccolinoprawns

Gamberoni – chilli king prawns on bruscetta which was buttery heaven and great tastes of the sea.  Garlic butter chilli sauce and the prawns cooked perfectly.

piccolinosalad

Insalata di Cesare – which had good portion of chicken full anchovies (which can be an option) and not over coated in dressing which was good.  There was both crispy bacon and bruschetta

piccolinowine

We drank a glass of trebiano each and it was an excellent choice fruity, full and perfect for lunchtime.  This is served by the glass and bottle.

piccolinopasta

Mains were Ravioli Zucca – roasted butternut squash with amaretti biscuits, hazelnuts and sage butter which was earthy, herby, smooth and light but full of flavour, sage leaves on top and a very nice surprise.

piccolinochicken

Pollo Milanese – parmesan and rosemary breadcrumbs, buffalo mozzarella, and spaghetti pomodoro, this was tasty, the breadcrumbs were light and the mozzarella gave it just an extra edge.  Spaghetti was al dente and the sauce fantastic with cherry tomatoes and a sprinkling of parmesan.

(Before and After) Tortino al Cioccolato –warm chocolate fondant and caramel ice cream – the ice cream cuts through the rich chocolate taste the fondant were amazing and the dessert was a true marriage.

piccolinoapple

Crostata Pimete – Baked Apple and almond tart with vanilla ice-cream – it had a great thin base and the consistency was excellent with small pieces of apple.  This was a true joy to eat.

Finishing with coffees this had been a great dining experience off a set menu for lunchtime – well done to Piccolino for choosing such a good menu, we will see you very soon.
