Sohale were invited to try Carluccio’s Christmas menu at the Trafford Centre and were very excited to sample the festive cocktails to begin.

The Cherry Amaretto Bellini is a sure Christmas delight with its Cherry juice mixed with Disaronno Amaretto and topped off with Prosecco both a lovely colour and taste.  Not forgetting mocktails we sampled the Sour Cherry spritz with included fresh mint a lovely fresh start to a meal.

The Trio di crostini  which included the signature Antonio’s chicken liver pate, tomatoes basil and garlic and the third one being goat’s cheese with red onion marmalade were all delicious tasty and complimented each other.

Zuppa Di Zucca was a simple and delicious roasted squash soup topped with pumpkin seeds for texture and served with a touch of crème fraiche. A light well seasoned velvety soup and a lovely winter warmer.

For the mains we sampled the festive risotto which was simply delicious mushrooms of many varieties baby spinach and all tossed together with crushed toasted walnuts topped with a cheese wafer and a drizzle of the deli’s porcini oil simply super.

Truffle butter ribeye steak was succulent tasty very well cooked and served with rosemary and garlic roasted potatoes.

Saltimbocca Di Pollo al vino santo something we tried for the first time and we pleased to have enjoyed it so much – a flattened chicken breast topped with beautiful parma ham and filled with a mushroom, vin santo sage and cream sauce. Served with carluccio’s rosemary and garlic roasted potatoes.

After a small break we sampled the torte di chocolato which was lovely and rich with a very tasty raspberry coulis and a dusting of icing sugar. But not forgetting to try Carluccio’s award winning panettone drizzled with the lovely vin santo syrup and served with vanilla ice cream.

Do go and try the festive menu it is a lovely collection of dishes which are tasty and great value for money. We thank Angela and her team for serving this menu for us to try and look forward to being back for the new Menu in 2017.
